Larned passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2025. He was a true Small Press Hero, passionately working on his own projects and enthusiastically promoting his fellow small pressers’ projects.
He was an integral part of several Small Press Heroes projects, including the Sunday Jam, the Secret Jam, a Small Press Carol and the Jam Around the World. He will be incredibly missed by all of us who had the good fortune to know him.

What inspires you to create?
I am a doodler. I cannot resist a clean piece of paper, I have to draw something on it. So most of the time those doodles turn into a comic strip or story.
What’s your creative process?
I do mostly humor, and many times I have a punch line in my head. I draw that and then work backwards to the first panel.
Tools of the trade:
Mechanical pencil, Bristol Board ( smooth or plate finish) ” Recollections” pens
