What inspires you to create?
I am listless in life without means to make things. Time and focus are harder to find than inspiration. Inspiration can come from anywhere– something I’ve seen, watched, or read can spark something. I once drew a 28 page comic inspired by a typo.
What’s your creative process?
I typically write comics in one of two ways. Either fairly quickly in a stream-of-consciousness manner, or in an agonizingly slow process of staring at a notebook or screen for hours in order to compose the perfect lines. Neither method involves second drafts. Laying out pages is similar.
Tools of the trade:
I use primarily fine-tip Faber-Castell pitt pens on cardstock, afterwards cleaned up digitally with an old version of Photoshop and an even older Intuos drawing tablet.
