What inspires you to create?
The first comic I remember is Captain Marvel (Mar-vell) #19; I could follow the story before I could read. I’m always amazed at diversity of art. Artists that inspire me [include] Gil Kane and many other comic artist. I’m also Inspired by Classic artists: William Blake, Michelangelo, [and] Picasso (because he experimented with so many different mediums for creating art).
What’s your creative process?
Just whatever comes into my head, or if I’m given a script, how I can interpret it. I like visiting Art galleries and museums. I’ve done an Autobiography and adapted a stage show.
Tools of the trade:
Mostly pencil and inked using a lightbox, but I enjoy experimenting with different processes. Currently working on a watercolour comic strip and painting using acrylics. Plan to do some lino printing. Like Hannibal Lecter said, you should try everything once.
