What inspires you to create?
I can’t NOT create. I feel restless when I don’t do anything artistic for too long. I like making comics with a surreal sense of humor, told straight.
What’s your creative process?
The specifics vary by project, but I normally start with writing a script. Once I have that figured out, I’ll draw the comic (either pencil and ink on cardstock paper, or drawn on my Wacom tablet). If it’s on paper, I’ll scan the art to clean it up and add colors.
Tools of the trade:
Google docs for scripting, Nina Exact cardstock paper, a Staedtler lead holder, a Pentel brush pen, Faber-Castell Pitt pens for detail, a Pigma Micron 01 for lettering, a Wacom tablet, and a very old copy of Photoshop.
