Tony Lorenz

Jason‘s thoughts:

“I call Tony ‘The Machine’ because the guy is constantly cranking out pages upon pages of comic book art! He’s got a voracious appetite for creating stories, and his enthusiasm for all the projects he’s working on is inspiring; it definitely keeps me inspired to keep creating! As soon as he’s done with one project, he’s reaching out to everyone to see what he can do next. Which speaks to his amazing talent, because he can draw anything! Superhero, horror, slice of life, Tony is down for every project that comes his way and he puts the same amazing energy and talent into all of them. That would certainly be enough, but on top of all of it, Tony is just an amazingly nice guy. Considering the tremendous amount of work he’s done and how much talent he has, he’s unbelievably humble and is genuinely appreciative of the praise that he gets. Of which he deserves all of it. Tony is a shining example of what makes the small press community so great!”

(Tony was nice enough to share his thoughts about some of the covers of projects that mean a lot to him)

My friend Len and I had been drawing little comics on typing paper. Well, after probably a year or two doing that, I guess we felt we were good enough to publish our own comic (my dad paid for 100 copies to be printed). Sadly only one issue was published, but another three issues were completely done (those will be published in the Floating World Savage World of Tony Lorenz coming out in Apr of 2025).

After Savage World this was my first big break. It was sold in comic shops with from what I read had a 25,000 print run. (It was also sold in a recent auction from the collection of Ruben Blades of “Fear The Walking Dead”). I was fired after the first issue (I did draw issue two but my version was never published until Floating World released the Complete Jontar collection; it’s now available everywhere).

This is a complete series I wrote and drew (25 issue series). I’m really proud I completed this series from start to finish. (There are talks of Floating World publishing the complete Futuro Tierra collection.)
